Chicago-based artist Kelli Connell is featured in a solo exhibition at the Elmhurst Art Museum, marking the final stop on her U.S. tour. The exhibition, "Living With Modernism: Kelliconnell," includes two series by Connell, "Pictures for Charis," which responds to the iconic works of Edward Weston through a queer, feminist lens. "Double Life" explores the evolution of intimate relationships shaped by the changing nature of identity and new commissions respond to the architecture of the Mies van der Rohe-designed McCormick House. Connell’s work is presented alongside 48 original prints by Weston on loan from the Center for Creative Photography (Tucson) and text excerpts from Charis.
