Another Jane Doe: Lawsuit Alleges Rape At Another UChicago Frat Party
"Despite being incapacitated, Jane Doe pleaded with him to wear a condom. The fraternity brother allegedly refused," a civil suit alleged. Lawsuit filed by Gould Grieco & Hensley, PLLC, alleges that Alpha Delta Phi, Inc., and the University of Chicago chapter, the Chicago Society of Alpha Delta Phasr, ignored known sexual assault risks at the house and failed to place meaningful safeguards in place. The University ofChicago is named as a respondent in discovery, which allows the plaintiff to obtain records from the university and add it as a defendant if the evidence warrants. This allegation comes after another rape claim was made at an Alpha Epsilong Pi frat party near the University Chicago campus. The lawsuit alleges that a 19-year-old woman was raped at a party at Alpha Phi on February 7. The alleged perpetrator, identified as the "perpetrator," is not named as defendant in the lawsuit as a result of an ongoing investigation by Chicago police. The complaint also alleges that the chapter has faced multiple police investigations into sexual assault claims against the members since 2009.
