Players and fans came together Thursday at Globe Life Field as pregame festivities celebrated the Texas Rangers’ 2023 World Series championship with a banner and trophy presentation.

The Texas Rangers won their Opening Day game 4-3 against the Chicago Cubs in front of a sold-out crowd of 42,130. Catcher Jonah Heim played the role of hero in the bottom of the 10th inning when he knocked a game-winning single up the middle to seal the win.

Heim and his teammates were introduced one by one before the game with fans serenading each Ranger with applause and cheers. Once the game started, that excitement turned to anxiety as the team faced three deficits, 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2.

But the team came back each time as Heim’s winner sent Rangers fans home with a win to cap off a night they’ll never forget.
