Burr Ridge Ready To Oust Architect After Bid Failure
The low bid was more than $5 million over the architect's estimate. The village is figuring out how to proceed. Burr Ridge, Massachusetts, officials are planning to remove Legat Architects from their new Village Hall project due to a lack of bids. The estimate for the new Village hall was $8.5 million, but the bids ranged from $13.8 million to $17.2 million. The village's staff has recommended that the board reject all bids and not negotiate with any bidder to reduce the project's scope, which would end the village's relationship with Legat. This comes as the village prepares to sell Village Hall by year's end to Goddard preschool chain.
