The work Ali puts in soccer is nothing compared to what he's doing off the pitch, doing volunteer work both with Comer Children's Hospital and with hospice patients, all while being a double major in psychology and neuroscience. University of Chicago soccer player, Ali Alamery, has been a standout for the University of Chicago men's soccer team and aims to make more saves off the field in the future. Despite his intense playing, Alamery is also a double major in psychology and neuroscience. Coach Phillip Kroft and Alamery have praised his team's efforts to win a national championship this season. Alamery believes that playing soccer gives him an escape from everyday life and allows him to compartmentalize. He also credits his motivation to succeed even though his father was a prisoner of war during the Iran-Iraq War.
