Mark was great! Living with him in May 2017, we were cornered by I94.  Our car was totaled and badly injured.  With family recommendations, we got the opportunity to contact Mark and ask for help on the process. The last thing I wanted to do was deal with insurance companies.  Mark was very useful in answering all my questions, getting them right away, reacting right away, believing me. Mark is very useful and easy. I've been walking around for a week for help. I had a question about the case in question. Most lawyers are hard to reach. Mark is definitely an unbelievable lawyer. In December 2015, he was stopped to cancel the lease contract. For literally months, our landlords have avoided our complaint to sue him for violating Chicago RLTO. Nevertheless, Mark persisted for us, and after 15 months, finally brought our case to court. In the trial, Mark was incredibly clever, talking well, a man who defended our rights as a borrower. Mark armed with undisputed facts, and without his diligence he would never have "won" our case (his argument was so intense that the landlord decided before the ruling). When I encountered an old landlord and a deposit problem, I started investigating a lawyer on line and met Mark's critique. I narrowed the list of candidates to three Chicago lawyers and emailed everyone with the same information. I knew my right as a tenant, so I felt ill-treated about the return of the security deposit after moving from my previous apartment.  I asked my friend for advice from the real estate industry and he immediately recommended Mark's service.

Leaving my previous apartment, I had a nightmare. The landlord was to move by a new tenant before I moved. They had to bring them all the day I was taking out all the boxes and furniture from the room.  They had a truck they rented, and they had only a few hours with them, so I had no choice but to move them to my apartment!  I have no choice but to jump out of my apartment, use neither toilet nor shower, and run around the country.  On the day of the landlord's wedding, her priority was clearly elsewhere.  She had to be interrupted during the day to hear about the nightmares of the apartment she caused.  I left the apartment in perfect condition and the new tenant was ready to get everything I had.  There was no harm done, and I always kept my room very clean.

Important points about working with Mark.

1 He gave me substantial and honest advice before I paid to my servants. His advice also included asking the landlord to wait for his month's inactivity before paying for something.

2. I never met Mark in person, but I didn't need to meet him. Everything was processed by an email that was immediately returned in all hours of the day.

3. My request for my landlord was a relatively low price (as compared with some of the other views), but I did not think it had any effect on the importance of my case.

4 The current tenant law and the Mark pricing model have little risk of downhill when seeking what you think is right. Since the landlord is responsible for the evidence every time he deducts, if he loses in the trial, he must pay the deduction plus a large fine plus his own legal expenses + Mark legal expenses. If you lose, you only pay for the rent and the court administrative fee. Many landlords, therefore, have no choice but to seek reconciliation unless they are confident that they do nothing wrong. My old landlord (also my lawyer) had just refunded half of my deposit, and was trying to maintain the remaining $1,000 on a silly demand that seems normal wear. I shed tears after living for more than two years.  I contacted Mark and sent all the related documents.  He consulted for free and it was clear that he was an expert in the area. I had an unfortunate experience of living with my hellish roommate. This woman was violent and I was pregnant at that time. I contacted Mark's office and talked directly with him. I give stars to mark 5 for five reasons.

1. Free Consultation - Not only did I file a lawsuit, but I also had my first contact with a lawyer. When I was informed that I would pay my rent more than when I paid my apartment in 30 days, I was a bit panicky and I went to Yelp and found Mark just like you are reading. I talked to him on the phone, explained my situation, and he was sure I could get out of the mess I was in.

2.Fee - I think it cost him $200 to get in touch with the landlord's lawyer. He did everything and picked up part of the settlement (of course), but I am still grateful that his help had succeeded in a greater settlement than I expected.

3 Communications - I can't remember the time when he didn't respond in an hour because there were so many emails going back and forth (at least 50 emails).

4. To be honest, he looked really eager to help me. While in the process of the settlement negotiations, he realized that I was a source of trouble and encouraged him to go higher. Obviously, I had no problem with it and got the number he wanted. He knows how to negotiate.

5. Professionalism - Everything he did from understanding my situation to planning to protect my rights and to getting the final payment check. He also has a pretty sweet office. I don't lie, and he makes me want to be a lawyer someday.

Last year, I hired Mark to help me when I needed to get my deposit back.  It took several months for everything to work, but Mark was not responsible. But if you are in a similar situation, you probably think so.

I have never actually met Mark. We adjusted emails such as sending scanned documents and PDFs. He worked very easily. He replied quickly to everything, very concise and to the point of communication. Another reviewer said that you have to recover your deposit or you don't have to pay the attorney's fee. It is not completely true. When you hire a retainer, you pay the retainer first, but you do not receive a refund unless the landlord demands the payment. I was disappointed. I had to cancel the lease for some reasons, so I contacted Mr. Silverman based on the wonderful criticism I saw here. I paid him for breaking the lease (close to the amount of my deposit) and he hurriedly sent letters and documents to my landlord. After receiving the letter, the landlord did not agree to return my deposit or break the lease at all. After I told Mr. Silverman, I broke my lease and at least wanted to get back some of my savings, so I emailed him more information to help. If the landlord unjustly deposits some or all of your deposits, go to Mark Silverman. Thanks to him, even after I paid my lawyer's fee, I received more than twice as much as my deposit. I moved from Chicago to Atlanta before I got my deposit back. The real estate company continued to say it would send. Yes. Unless there is another notification, you'll have a time to refund the deposit.

I called my lawyer after 45 days of moving. I said I didn't sue you. Mind you, I read the book and did everything. I contacted Silverman from Atlanta for the whole nine yards which I had notified thirty days ago. The lawyer not only took my case, but also received a deposit of 1,000 dollars. I only sent the papers to the lawyer and stood up in court in Chicago. I didn't say a word in the court, but in fact, I sat in the audience and watched the lawyer do what he did. Wow! Really amazing. I went to court with me for the landlord who had my deposit. My landlord was also a lawyer. Scary! Mark is an amazing person and knows RLTO completely like the back of his hand. Mark did a wonderful job.  I had an authority in business called "real estate lawyer," and frankly speaking, in my opinion I am among the most incompetent lawyers to be admitted to practice.  She wrote a lease under illegal provisions.  She tried to enforce an illegal provision.  She entered into many unscrupulous membership to show her house to the buyer.  She and her husband were always bothering us by phone or email.  It was absurd.  

Anyway, her actions forced her into a very clear legal detention.  Mark helped negotiate a 9,000-dollar settlement and the 95% return of my deposit.  She would have been worse off in court.  When I think of other people writing about Mark's court manners, I think I should have done so.

I contacted Mark to ask him to return my deposit and immediately began to work on reconciliation.  I was forced to double my deposit and he recovered the legal fees from the previous leasing agent.

Silver man to rescue!  My roommate and I tried to cancel the lease early for some reason.  Of course, the landlord said he would not lend us anything, and he would not borrow anything. mark is minimal.  When I contacted the Tenant Union in Chicago, I wanted to pay a deposit of 1.5 times the amount I lent.  The cost didn't cost us to recover our savings, so I could imagine what was charged for it.  

After all, Mark Silverman cannot make a mistake.

Mark Silverman did a wonderful job. Before they had a great communication and decided to proceed, they answered all the questions quickly. He had a larger settlement than we had said to him, all faster and no more pain.

Based on other positive reviews of Yelp, I hired Mark Silverman and took part in a recent battle with past landlords.  Today I received a check for settlement from this deposit case.  Working with Mark was a simple process...Just pass the necessary information to him and the rest sit down while he manages.  Provide information as needed.

I will tell you more about my case, but I have a pretty strong argument with my landlord and paid a deposit of over $1,400 on line.  After all said, our reconciliation covered the fees of the mark and returned most of our original deposits to us.  We needed a refund in a bad way and we are very pleased that Mark was involved in this process...Otherwise, we would have had bad luck.

I consulted Mark Silverman about the treatment of the tenant, but his work impressed me very much.  He answered my email immediately and gave me a clear and concise answer.  He presented that  I had several options and negotiated with my landlord on his advice.  By the way, I thought his commission was very reasonable in terms of legal fees.  Go, mark! !!
