The Chicago Bears lost 42-38 to the San Francisco 49ers, but still gained national validation. ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky stated that the Bears' championship-caliber offense was built off of their running and passing game, with Caleb Williams throwing for a season high 330 yards and leading five scoring drives. The game produced 936 total yards and 11 touchdowns. However, the defense struggled, with San Francisco generating touchdowns on six of its next nine possessions after the opening interception and averaging 7.3 yards per play. Despite this, Orlovky highlighted the emergence of two young players, Colston Loveland and Luther Burden, as key players for the team's success. The Bears no longer need to imagine what their ceiling looks like, seeing the performance under the lights.
