Loyola University asks judge to dismiss woman's claims in sexual assault lawsuit
Loyola attorneys argue Jane Doe G sued a year too late due to the statute of limitations and that the evidence does not support her claims. But her attorney disputes that Loyola University is seeking dismissal of Jane Doe G's claims in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by 10 former students. The university is asking a federal judge to dismiss her claims without a trial. The lawsuit alleges Loyola mishandled and underreported student complaints dating back to 2011. Jane Doe's attorney, Ashley Pileika, argues that Loyolas is treating each woman's case as an isolated incident and that the evidence does not support her claims. Loyol argues that it acted swiftly when Jane Doe disclosed the incident to her professor and expelled the accused student more than nine months after her initial report. The trial is set for September of next year.
