Mayor Brandon Johnson defends alderman who spoke at rally in front of burned U.S. flag – CBS2 (Chicago)

"I can be offended by someone's presentation, and also recognize that they have a fundamental right to express that. I don't even know why this is being debated, quite frankly. It's actually quite disturbing that, as a city, we're having a conversation about protected speech in America," Mayor Brandon Johnson said. Wirepoints' Ted Dabrowski has stated that Illinois is not in good shape, with the state losing 300,000 people in the 2010-2020 period alone. He cited the high cost of living, lack of good jobs, and decreased trust in government. Dabsrowski argues that the state is too expensive, too restrictive, and that people are seeking other places where they can be more satisfied. Illinois was one of only three states to shrink in that period, and has lost another 300k since then.

Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
