New city ordinance would provide transparency on migrant shelter evictions – FOX32 (Chicago)

If the full council passes the measure next month, DCFS would provide a daily report on the number of new arrivals and asylum seekers evicted or removed from city shelters. The information would be shared online with the public. Wirepoints' Ted Dabrowski, a human rights activist, has stated that Illinois is not in good shape, with the state's population shrinking by 300,000 since the 2010-2020 period, and that it is too expensive to live in, too many good jobs, and not enough trust in the government. Dabsrowski argues that the cost of living in Illinois is too high and that there are other places where people can be more satisfied. He suggests that a new city ordinance would provide transparency on migrant shelter evictions.

Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
