Expansion Completed At Homer Glen's Silver Cross Emergency Room

The facility has three additional patient rooms, more lab space and a second nurse's station. The expansion of the Silver Cross Emergency Center in Homer Glen, Illinois, has been completed. The facility, which opened in 2009, initially had the capacity to care for 25 patients per day and was able to handle around 50 or more visits a day. However, the need for accessible and timely emergency care has grown, and Silver Cross now sees twice as many patients as possible. The expansion was necessary for the hospital to meet the needs of all visitors.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The expansion of the Silver Cross Emergency Center in Homer Glen is now complete, according to a release from Silver Cross Hospital.

“When we first opened the facility in 2009, we had the capacity to care for 25 patients per day with little to no wait,” Celia Rademacher, manager of the Homer Glen Free-Standing Emergency Center, said in a release. “However, the need for accessible and timely emergency care has grown exponentially, and we now receive twice as many patients, with roughly 50 or more visits a day.”

Expansion was the only way for Silver Cross to continue to meet the needs of all who come through the doors, said Rademacher.
