The agent was driving alone when he spotted Corrale shooting towards a homeless encampment, according to federal law enforcement sources. CorRALes was apprehended at the southern border in October 2023 and subsequently released into the United States during the Biden administration. Corralses also had a previous arrest in California where he was released from custody despite an ICE detainer. The Chicago Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a shooting involving federal agents in the 1700 block of South Union Avenue.
