Motorcyclist Dies 2 Weeks After Gurnee Collision

The collision occurred on Grand Avenue and Spruce Street on May 23. Rodriguez was transported to Condell following the collision. Preliminary results from an autopsy show he died from blunt force injuries.

Frank Rodriguez was pronounced dead on Sunday in the intensive care unit at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. Rodriguez was receiving treatment for injuries sustained after his motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle in the area of Grand Avenue and Spruce Street at about 7:20 p.m. on May 23, according to the coroner's office. Rodriguez was transported to Condell following the collision.

Police say the crash occurred when a Toyota SUV headed west on Grand Avenue attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot on the north side of the street. The SUV collided with Rodriguez's motorcycle, which was headed west on Grand Avenue in the far-right lane. Preliminary results from an autopsy show Rodriguez died from blunt force injuries suffered as a result of a crash.
