La Grange, California, is set to vote on its 'Climate Action Plan' which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by half in six years from 2005 levels, by 65 percent in 2040, and by 80 percent in 2050. The plan includes decarbonizing energy sources and transportation, reducing car miles traveled, and managing water sustainably. So far, 42 area towns and counties have endorsed the plan. La Grange's staff has recommended that the Village Board approve the document.

La Grange's staff said it has reviewed the plan's specifics and finds that they align with the village's current efforts. As such, the staff recommended the Village Board approve the document, according to a memo. The plan includes decarbonizing energy sources and transportation, reducing car miles traveled, and managing water sustainably.
Among other things, the plan calls for educating the community and incorporating equity and including into climate plans.
