D128 Referendum Will Determine The Future Outcome Of Schools And Community: Letter
Residents are invited to an information meeting on the Palos Heights D128 referendum Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Independence Junior High. The future of Palos Heights School District 128 in Illinois is on the ballot on November 3, with the outcome deciding the future of the community. The current funding model for schools in Illinois does not benefit the district, and its revenue is almost entirely dependent on property taxes. With 200 more students coming into the district due to the need for more teachers, paraprofessionals, and related services staff, the Board has shared these realities with the community many times. The district has never previously asked for an increase in taxes. A referendum on the November 3rd is an opportunity to ensure the continued excellence of our school district.
